Jesse Eisenberg’s third feature is a comedy about a New Jersey housewife (Julianne Moore) who tries to jumpstart her life by joining a local musical theater troupe led by a persnickety director (Paul Giamatti). In addition to also playing a small supporting role, writing and directing, Eisenberg also wrote several songs for the fictitious musical that Moore’s character becomes obsessed with.
